Formal Inauguration of Darshan Academy Amritsar and Cultural Programme

On 6 October Sant Rajinder Singh Ji Maharaj and Mata Rita Ji formally inaugurated Darshan Academy Amritsar. Maharaj Ji and Mata Ji were warmly welcomed to the thoughtfully designed campus, with its spacious classrooms, broad hallways, multipurpose audiovisual hall, and activity room. The central courtyard had been transformed into a colourful exhibition of student creativity, with art and craft displays exploring meditation, peace, ethical values, nutrition, and healthy living. The exhibits offered a glimpse into the young minds being nurtured at the Academy and the values woven into their education.
During their visit, Maharaj Ji and Mata Ji also inaugurated the Rajinder Learning Center, a dedicated space equipped with books, computers, and educational resources designed to make learning more accessible, engaging, and enjoyable.
From the school, Maharaj Ji and Mata Ji proceeded to the adjoining grounds. Countless tiny lights illuminated the pathway to the dais, creating a radiant welcome. A large gathering of students, teachers, parents, and visitors greeted Maharaj Ji and Mata Ji with enthusiastic applause.
The program began with a cake-cutting ceremony commemorating Maharaj Ji’s 80th birth anniversary, followed by a warm welcome in which Maharaj Ji and Mata Ji were presented with planters. A school report by the school head, Mr Verma, highlighted the students’ achievements and accolades in academics and sports.
Addressing the gathering, Maharaj Ji expressed his happiness at being present for the occasion and praised the beautiful school campus, its facilities, and the creative projects prepared by the students. Reflecting on the true purpose of education, the spiritual Master explained that a good school does far more than impart academic knowledge. It prepares children for life, equipping them with the wisdom, inner strength, and values needed to face its challenges with calmness, clarity, peace, and love.
Darshan Academy provides quality education. Alongside science, mathematics, languages, and other academic subjects, children learn the importance of kindness, compassion, peaceful conflict resolution, and living in harmony with others. These values help them grow not only into capable individuals, but into good human beings and the peacemakers of tomorrow.
Central to this approach is the daily practice of meditation. By learning to turn inward, children develop the calmness and balance needed to navigate difficulties and respond to life’s challenges with greater understanding and peace.
Concluding his address, Maharaj Ji prayed that the students would contribute to a more loving and harmonious world.
Maharaj Ji and Mata Ji then presented scholarships to students who had distinguished themselves through academic and sporting excellence.
Cultural Presentation: Garden of Gratitude
The celebration continued with a delightful cultural presentation by Darshan Academy Amritsar students titled “Garden of Gratitude”. Through music, dance, and short skits, the children brought to life the image of a spiritual garden, where good thoughts are planted as seeds, kind words nourish their growth, and gratitude blossoms into flowers.
Students of different ages filled the stage with colour, energy, and joyful expression. The performances included songs, a beautiful ghazal by Sant Darshan Singh Ji Maharaj, a lively traditional Punjabi bhangra, and the spirited Darshan Academy anthem. The program concluded with a memorable group photograph of all the participating students with Maharaj Ji and Mata Ji.
For the students, families, and visitors who had gathered in the presence of the spiritual Master, it was a moment of immense joy and gratitude. The evening celebrated a vision in which young minds are nurtured, hearts are filled with love, and souls are awakened to their highest purpose.
